Ashford wheels are excellent "first wheels." They are affordable, easy to use, sturdy, and attractive. Ashford produced its first spinning wheel in the 1940's and continues to manufacture a nice working wheel at a reasonable price. Ashford wheels are very versatile. They will spin from fine to moderately heavy yarn just as they come, but an optional jumbo flyer unit can be purchased for those wishing to spin a very bulky yarn. Latest additions are the availability of a lace flyer and double-treadle kit. Wheels come with easy-to-follow instructions and a threading hook. Unless otherwise noted, they come with four bobbins and have a 3/8"orifice.

With the exception of the Joy, Ashford wheels come in kit form and must be assembled. A full-color brochure is available on request.
